Unions CCOO, LAB and UGTthe majority at the metal trading table in Bizkaia, have requested this Monday the mediation of the Basque government in the conflict opened by the renewal of the agreement “before the stagnation” of the conflict that already accumulates 11 days of strike.

The last meeting between the unions and the FVEM employers’ association was held on December 21, but the meeting ended without an agreement and without setting a date for a new meeting.”In this situation of absolute blockade and an employers’ association that despises the negotiation and that it is not responsible for the working conditions in the sector, we believe that the Basque Government can intervene and be an active actor to resolve the conflict”, the unions have highlighted.

They also recalled that the Bizkaia metal agreement is the main agreement due to the number of workers it affects, around 56,000.
