With the purpose of promoting dialogue between the actors involved in the execution of the Chinchero air terminal, the Dialogue Management Committee was installed, for which the leaders of the Racchi Ayllo, Yanacona and Ayllopongo peasant communities of the province of Urubamba, Cusco, went to the headquarters of the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC). With this measure, it will be possible to start the movement of earth from the airport and speed up the work.
The purpose of the committee is that through direct dialogue, disputes arising in the area of influence of the project can be resolved in a short timeavoiding possible social conflicts between the peasant communities and the contractor.
In this regard, the head of the MTC, Richard Tineoexhorted the leaders of the peasant communities to work in a consensual manner.
During the installation ceremony, the presidents of the peasant communities of Ayllopongo, Efraín Echaui Cuiro; of Yanacona, René Huamán Quispe, and of Racchi Ayllo, Rolando Conde Quispe, as well as the representatives of the Chinchero consortiumthe Project Management Office (PMO) of Korea, the Directorate of Civil Aeronautics and the Office of Dialogue and Social Management of the MTC.
The airport project is executed under a social management model to prevent conflict. Also, upon completion, It will be able to receive up to 6 million travelers a year from Miami, Mexico, Panama, Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo, Bogotá, La Paz and Quito.
