Julie Powellthe food writer best known for her successful book of Memories Julie & Juliadied, confirmed his publisher this Tuesday, November 1. The author was 49 years old.

Her husband, Eric Powell, told The New York Times that the cause was cardiac arrest.

Nearly 30 years old and working as a secretary at the time, Powell felt uninspired by her life, so she decided to take her mother’s copy of Child’s book and Try out the recipes in your small New York City kitchen.
The book was adapted into the popular 2009 film Julie & Juliastarring Meryl Streep as Child and Amy Adams as Powell. Directed by Nora Ephron, the film weaves together Powell’s culinary journey with Child’s as they both start out in the culinary world.
Since he arrived on the literary scene, Powell appeared in Iron Chef America Y The Martha Stewart Show from Food Network. He wrote for The New York Times, Bon Appétit Y Food & Wine and a two-time James Beard Award winner.
powell too received an honorary degree from Le Cordon Blue in Paristhe school Child attended in 1950. She is survived by her husband, brother, and parents.
