A Russian Shahed drone struck a warehouse belonging to Rozetka, Ukraine’s largest online retailer, on Saturday morning near Kyiv, killing one worker and wounding seven others.
Rozetka co-owner Iryna Chechotkina said in a Facebook post that the drone hit the warehouse while 270 people were inside. She identified the victim as a colleague named Volodymyr Melnychenko and said one of the seven hospitalised was in serious condition.
Chechotkina said the company would provide medical, psychological and financial support to those affected and their families. She added that the company remained operational.
The Office of the Prosecutor General said the attack took place at around 11:28 on 1 August in the city of Brovary, killing a 61-year-old man. Six people were wounded, one with multiple serious injuries, while others were treated on an outpatient basis. Thirteen vehicles were also damaged.
The strike is the latest in a series of Russian attacks on Ukrainian logistics facilities. Recent months have seen warehouses belonging to auto parts distributor Omega, electronics retailer Moyo, wine seller GoodWine and IT distributor ERC destroyed, along with a Philip Morris storage facility and a 100,000-square-metre Amtel warehouse complex near Kyiv.
