Dominican singer-songwriter Letón Pé has released La goloteka, a new LP spawned from her debut album Golosa. The project deconstructs her original tracks and rebuilds them through new sound codes, inviting a variety of artists and producers to reinterpret the music through their own creative styles.
The album features nine reinterpretations crafted by a diverse collective primarily made up of Caribbean producers. Participating Dominican artists include Mediopicky, Diego Raposo, Funsize, and Ladobé, also known as Brian Cid. Venezuelan producers Mr. Pauer and MJ Nebreda, who has worked with RaiNao, Ms Nina, and Shygirl, also contributed to the record.
Collaborators and Electronic Sound
The project brings together additional talent from across the region, including Puerto Rican indie duo Los Wálters, recurring collaborator Piek from Spain, and Colombian producer CRRDR, known for his work on Grasa Club by Nathy Peluso. Together, the contributors establish a meeting point for different scenes within Latin American alternative music.
These remixes amplify the essence of the original record while pushing into the restless margins of contemporary Latin American electronic music. The release frames enjoyment as an act of rebellion, treating joy and disruption as forms of resistance.
While Golosa introduced a carefully constructed universe built on detail and a curated sound identity, this new phase moves that language into a euphoric, nocturnal, and uninhibited direction. The songs detach from their original structures to enter a physical space centered on movement, club energy, and celebration. La goloteka is available on all digital platforms.
