Dominican Tourism Minister David Collado launched renovation works at Los Almendros beach and the Baní seafront boardwalk on Thursday, beginning a project worth RD$136,956,834 that aims to strengthen tourism and economic development in Peravia province.

The works will be carried out by Ceiztur, the Ministry of Tourism's infrastructure execution body, and form part of a broader program the ministry is driving to rehabilitate public spaces and marine fronts across the country.
The project covers an intervention area of 9,978 square meters and includes the construction of plazas, terraces, vendor modules, urban furniture and recreational spaces, as well as paving, sanitary and electrical installations, bollards, green areas, and a landscaping and environmental restoration program.
Additional features include parking areas, support buildings for electrical services, security and solid waste management, picnic tables, children's play areas, outdoor exercise equipment, public bathrooms, and a dedicated emergency care area.
Collado said the project responds to a longstanding demand from Bani residents and will transform the coastal front of the province. He described the intervention as a turning point for tourism in Bani.
He added that the initiative is part of the ministry's strategy to recover public spaces and marine fronts for the benefit of residents and visitors alike.
The project seeks to modernize one of the main recreational spaces along the Peravia coastline, improve its operational and environmental conditions, and deliver a safer, more orderly and functional public area.
Municipal and provincial authorities attended the launch, joined by representatives from the local tourism and business sectors.
