Chinese robotics firm DaxAI has presented Cyber Horse, a 320-kilogram rideable quadruped robot capable of carrying 300 kilograms, at a trade fair in Beijing.

Chinese technology company DaxAI has unveiled Cyber Horse, a 320-kilogram four-legged robot designed to carry human riders and heavy payloads, at the World Robot Conference 2026 in Beijing.

The massive quadrupedal machine allows visitors to climb aboard and steer it around the exhibition floor, marking a functional move toward rideable robotic transport.



According to reporting by technology outlet Futurism, the Cyber Horse is neither a computer rendering nor a concept confined to video demonstrations. Attendees at the event were permitted to board the vehicle and navigate it through the exhibition grounds.

The machine stands as a hybrid design between a traditional motorcycle and a large quadrupedal robot. DaxAI stated that the vehicle can support up to 300 kilograms of payload, matching nearly its own total weight of 320 kilograms.

Heavy cargo capacity and joint engineering

Moving such mass on four legs requires substantial structural power. DaxAI specified that the joints of Cyber Horse produce a maximum torque of 1,400 newton-metres, designed to maintain stability while traversing terrain under load.

On paper, the company claims the robot is prepared to negotiate steep inclines as well as unpaved surfaces including gravel and mud. Quadrupedal locomotion allows mechanical legs to step over obstacles that would halt wheeled vehicles.

However, observers noted that current demonstrations have occurred exclusively on the flat indoor flooring of the trade centre. Recorded footage shows mechanical movements that remain somewhat choppy, leaving questions about how Cyber Horse will perform on rough outdoor ground.

A report published by China Daily described the vehicle as being designed for high-end off-road recreation. The publication noted that the machine translates artificial intelligence code from computer screens into a physical device capable of transporting riders.

Beyond personal leisure, DaxAI is targeting industrial applications for the platform. The firm highlighted heavy cargo transportation and disaster rescue operations as primary use cases where leg-based movement offers advantages over wheels.

Comparison with rival quadruped concepts

DaxAI is not the only manufacturer exploring four-legged passenger vehicles. Japanese industrial manufacturer Kawasaki Heavy Industries has been developing Corleo, a competing robotic mount concept.

However, Kawasaki has so far presented Corleo primarily through promotional videos relying heavily on computer-generated imagery. DaxAI has set Cyber Horse apart by demonstrating a working prototype carrying actual people in a public setting.



China has developed an extensive industrial base in quadrupedal robotics, with companies such as Unitree producing four-legged machines for commercial and educational markets. Cyber Horse builds upon these established engineering architectures, adapting proven quadruped mechanics to create a rideable platform.

Commercial timeline and public reaction

Despite the live demonstration in Beijing, DaxAI has not released pricing details, launch dates, or target retail markets for Cyber Horse. The company has not indicated when a commercial model will become available to buyers.

The novel machine has sparked widespread discussion online. One commentator on Reddit summarised the paradox of the invention by observing that after humanity developed the horseless carriage, it has now created the horse without a horse.
