An 18-year-old man was seriously injured after being attacked by a group of people at a coastal venue in Rio, Patras, early Sunday morning. News website PatraPress.gr reported that the young man suffered an unprovoked assault that left him with 13 screwdriver wounds to his back and a broken arm.
The incident began inside the entertainment venue at around 3:00 a.m. when one assailant grabbed the victim by the neck, according to the complaint. The confrontation quickly moved outside, where a group of five to six people surrounded the teenager.

According to the victim's testimony, the father of one of the young attackers joined the group during the assault. The assailants repeatedly struck the victim in the back with a screwdriver and broke his arm while trying to drag him toward the pier to throw him into the sea.
A friend of the 18-year-old intervened to halt the violence, which local reports described as a crucial action that prevented further harm. Authorities are investigating how the confrontation started inside the establishment and the actions of everyone involved outside.
