ALDI is selling a multifunctional backpack for a limited time in its bazaar section, aimed at shoppers who need extra space when they leave home for work or school in the morning. The German supermarket chain is offering the bag at a price that undercuts most specialist travel and tech retailers.
The backpack is designed in an urban style that fits the aesthetic of an office environment. It comes in olive green and khaki tones, giving it a sober yet smart look, and measures 30 by 20-25 by 44 centimetres. Thanks to an expandable system, its capacity ranges from 26 to 33 litres, enough to carry everything from work documents to food containers or leisure items.

The launch comes as August draws to a close and the return to work and the new school year approaches. ALDI's backpack is positioned as a practical, low-cost option at a time when large retailers are increasingly rolling out versatile bazaar products designed to compete with brands that specialise in travel and technology gear.
Padded compartment for laptops and lunchboxes
The bag is built around multiple compartments to maximise its versatility. Its largest feature is the main pocket, which contains several independent sections inside, including an integrated padded area for a laptop or tablet.
The centre of that main compartment also holds space for lunchboxes or large bottles, separating them from the padded electronics section to protect both. At the front, two organiser pockets are built for smaller items that need to be reached quickly, such as chargers, notebooks, pens and keys, so users are not left fumbling through the bag to find them. Every compartment, front and main, closes with a zip for added security.
Price and availability
A side pocket is designed specifically for water bottles or flasks, a feature aimed at anyone who spends several hours away from home. The main interior can hold a larger container, while the exterior side pocket is meant for a smaller bottle that can be grabbed quickly without opening the rest of the bag.
The backpack is available in the bazaar section of ALDI supermarkets for a limited time only, running until 25 August, priced at 16.99 euros. Based on its reception and the attention it has drawn on social media, the product looks set to become a strong seller for the chain.
