The sixth package of sanctions against Russia has still not been approved by the EU. The problem is the total ban on Russian oil imports. The embargo is blocked primarily by Hungary. That is why, as he reports, there was an idea in Brussels to exclude the oil issue from the latest package.
The EU will give up blocking Russian oil imports?
– In fact, there is an idea to separate the package of sanctions, because there is consent for 90 percent. its components. We are moving forward with everything except oil – said one of the EU diplomats in an interview with the service. – It is frustrating that we cannot move forward with the topics that are approved. So why not adopt a pragmatic solution and continue the discussion on energy? – he adds.

The sixth package of sanctions includes, in addition to the oil embargo, the Russian bank Sberbank, which is to be disconnected from the global financial settlement system SWIFT. Hungary wants money to move away from oil
