The head of the Ministry of Development, Waldemar Buda, once again assured journalists that the payment of money from the National Reconstruction Plan is just around the corner. The minister says that most of the contentious issues have been resolved. – In my opinion, 95 percent. we have already dealt with cases – he said in an interview with “Dziennik Gazet Prawna”. “The agreement is close,” he added.
What about KPO funds? Waldemar Buda: We have arrangements
Buda also stressed that the dispute, which has been going on for a long time between the Member State – the CJEU – the European Commission, “goes beyond the National Reconstruction Plan”.
The government representative also assured that Poland was implementing the demands of the Court of Justice of the European Union. The CJEU wants to liquidate the Disciplinary Chamber of the Supreme Court. – We have agreements on the reform of the judiciary in the part concerning the Supreme Court and the disciplinary liability of judges. And we are going to fulfill it, the legislative process is already underway – said Buda.
It’s just that there is still no agreement on the amendment, for which President Andrzej Duda and PiS MPs are responsible. – Our position on the presidential draft of changes is still valid – said Sebastian Kaleta, the deputy head of the Ministry of Justice last week, before the Tuesday session of the parliamentary commission working on changing the provisions on the Supreme Court.
Billions up for the taking. Poland is waiting for the KPO
Within the framework of the National Reconstruction Plan alone, Poland may receive EUR 23.9 billion in subsidies and another PLN 34.2 billion in the form of a loan. In total, our country is waiting for EUR 58 billion, which in PLN 271 billion.
In recent weeks, there have been several reports that the approval of the KPO is imminent. However, the head of government cut them off. – There is no chance of accepting the KPO because we have not reached an agreement yet. Poland is a sovereign country, we have rules and this is how we will define the boundary conditions of the agreement with the European Union that are acceptable to us, said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.
Over the weekend, the head of government said that KPO funds are important for Poland: “Twice more important than before the outbreak of the war in Ukraine”. He also explained that receiving money under the KPO would mean that Poland would not have to issue bonds. – KPO is one hundred and several tens of billions in grants alone that Poland can invest – said the Prime Minister.
