Lower the thermostat 1 degree, put the air conditioning 1 degree hotter or reduce the use of the car. These are some of the gestures that, according to the European Commission, could help Ukraine, minimizing energy dependence on Russia.
Some recommendations that come after several European countries have refused to continue buying Russian gas. For this reason, they have designed a plan for which the citizens will have to assume responsibility.
But these are the only domestic actions they have called. They also ask that we take our foot off the accelerator, that we not use the car on Sundays or that we change the private means of transport for public.
If all the citizens of the European Union did so, they say, we would save enough oil to fill 120 supertankers and enough gas to heat 20 million homes.
