British police investigate anonymous bomb threats at Maguire’s home

Manchester region police are investigating anonymous threats about the presence of a bomb in the home of English defender Harry Maguire of Manchester United.

“During the last 24 hours, Harry has received a serious threat about his family home,” the spokesperson explained. “He notified the police, who are investigating the case,” he added.

Police confirmed in a statement that it was found to be a “bomb alert in the Wilmslow area”.

“No evacuation was ordered, but as a precautionary measure a sniffer dog was brought to the scene on Thursday afternoon”, without any suspicious objects being found.

At 29 years old, Maguire is experiencing a complicated season both at a collective level with United and because of his below-expected individual performance.

“The safety of his family is Harry’s number one priority,” added the player’s spokesperson.

Beaten by Liverpool 4-0 last Tuesday, with Maguire as a starter, United are in danger of ending the Premier League outside the G4 and not playing in the next European Champions League.

You red devils are currently sixth in the table with 54 points, three behind Tottenham (4th) and Arsenal (5th), who still have a game in hand.
