US Secret Service agents shot an intruder on Wednesday in a building linked to the Embassy of Peru in Washington DC, reported the spokesman for this body, Anthony Guglielmi.

In a message on Twitter, Guglielmi noted that, “after a confrontation”, Secret Service agents opened fire on an intruder shortly before 08:00 GMT (12:00 GMT) at an address in a residential area of ​​the capital.

The spokesman said that no troops were injured.

The shooting took place at the address “3000 block of Garrison Street” in Northwest Washington, in a residential area.

The Peruvian embassy is located on Massachusetts Avenue in the city.

The District of Columbia Police Department noted on its Twitter account that members of this service have responded to gunshots at the Garrison Street address.
