The president of the United States, Joe Biden, has assured Vladimir Putin that he is considering using biological and chemical weapons in the war he is waging in Ukraine, and that for this reason the Kremlin has accused kyiv possession of this type of weapon.
“Putin’s back is against the wall.hour says that the United States has biological and chemical weapons in Europe, and it is simply not true“, Biden has asserted at a Business Roundtable event: “They are also suggesting that Ukraine has biological and chemical weapons; a clear sign that he is considering using them,” she added.
Previously, NATO officials and some members of the international community accused Russia of spread unproven information that Ukraine had a biological weapons program and was planning to carry out biological or chemical attacks.
The Russian Defense Ministry had accused kyiv, without providing evidenceof planning a chemical attack against his own people to blame Moscow for this type of weapon in the framework of the invasion.
According to the president, the United States national security adviser, Jake Sullivan, has already warned Nikolay Patrushev, secretary of the Russian Security Council, of the consequences of “any possible Russian decision to use chemical or biological weapons in Ukraine”. However, the White House has not specified exactly what those consequences would be.
The Russian invasion of Ukraine, called by the Kremlin a “special military operation” to disarm Ukraine, has stalled on most fronts, with Russian troops still unable to gain control of major cities, although continue to commit serious crimes against civilians.
