The US Department of Commerce announced on Friday the inclusion in a blacklist of some 100 Russian planes, such as that of the tycoon Roman Abramovich and the Boeing of the Aeroflot airline, which recently violated the sanctions imposed by the United States on Russia for the invasion of Ukraine. .

The roster includes aircraft operated by Aeroflot, AirBridge Cargo, Utair, Nordwind, Azur Air and Aviastar, as well as the Gulfstream G650 private jet owned by Abramovich, owner of English Premier League soccer club Chelsea.

“We publish the list to warn the world that we will not allow Russian and Belarusian companies and oligarchs to travel with impunity violating our lawsCommerce Secretary Gina Raimondo said.

The United States has banned planes made locally or made up of at least 25% US-origin parts from entering Russia without special permission.

But “Since March 2, 2022, according to publicly available information, the ministry has identified a number of commercial and private flights from third countries to Russia, all of them owned, controlled, chartered or leased by Russia or Russian citizens”, he explains in a statement that publishes the complete list.

These devices are prohibited from refueling, undergoing maintenance operations or supplying spare parts.
