the player of Osasuna Ruben Garcia has financed a convoy of 10 vehicles with the aim of helping the transfer of Ukrainian refugees, in addition to supplying food and medical supplies on the Polish border.
Contacts for aid began a few days ago and the initial premise, according to the Osasuna player, is to be able to “include those refugees who already have the possibility of staying in the country in the available places.”
The Valencian footballer has enabled a website to receive donations and it has financed six vans –whose number could grow to 10– that will leave for Krakow on March 24 from Valencia and Pamplona.
This Friday, early in the afternoon, the website has already accounted for more than 4,500 euros in donations that will be used to send medical supplies and food; in addition to helping to bring the maximum number of people possible.
“Last week, on the day between matches, my neighbor knocked on the door and explained the situation he had experienced (he traveled there) and they brought 12 refugees, they carried a lot of material… it made me think and I said, what can I do to help?” asked Rubén García, who asks “above all medicines”.
This is how he expresses himself Ruben Garcia in a video released by Osasuna on his Twitter account:
Rubén García will travel to Poland next week to transport material for the Ukrainian people, and asks for the solidarity of all the reds in the collection that will take place on Sunday at the Tajonar gate from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
