Ukraine denounces that two thirds of Russian missiles hit civilian buildings and that it is intentional

Ukrainian authorities denounced on Wednesday that two thirds of the missiles launched by Russian troops in the invasion of Ukraine are hitting civilian buildings, and suggested that this is not due to miscalculations by their Army.

On Tuesday night, Russian forces launched “strategic missiles from aircraft and from Iskander ballistic systems over Ukraine. Civilian targets were damaged, which unfortunately has become the hallmark of what is considered the ‘second strongest army in the world,'” said Ukrainian presidential adviser Oleksiy Arestovych, according to the Ukrinform agency.

The advisor assured that the Ukrainian forces shot down “at least three planes, a helicopter and (the interception of) several cruise missiles” Russians, to which they responded with the launch of missiles.

“Russian propaganda says that its Army works with surgical precision, but two-thirds of the missiles hit civilian targets. And it seems that this is done deliberately,” Arestovych said.

A US Department of Defense official estimated last Monday that the Russian Army had launched “more than 900 missiles of various types and sizes” since the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine, on February 24, and said that recently Long-range shots have increased over the cities of Mariúpol, kyiv, Kharkov and Chernigov, among other population centers.

“What we are seeing on the ground is an ongoing military effort to subdue these population centers and to do so now with more and more violence using more and more long-range gunfire, which is more and more indiscriminate in terms of what they are hitting. the Pentagon official said on condition of anonymity.

For its part, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Army assured on its Facebook page that to date Russian military casualties amount to some 13,800 soldiers, and that 430 tanks, 1,375 armored vehicles, 190 artillery systems, 70 rocket launcher systems have been destroyed. , 43 air defense units, 84 aircraft, 108 helicopters, 819 vehicles, three ships, 60 tanker trucks and 11 drones.
