“A fourth (dose) booster is needed right now. The protection you get from the third (vaccine) is good enough, actually pretty good for hospitalizations and deaths, it’s not as good against infections, but it doesn’t last very long.”Bourla said during the broadcast of CBS’s Face the Nation.
He also noted that “we are presenting that data to the FDA (US Food and Drug Administration) and then we will see what the experts outside of Pfizer also say”.
Previously, bourla had already anticipated that a fourth dose would be essential amid the spread of COVID-19.

However, according to CDCsome people with moderate or severe immunosuppression who have received three doses of the Pfizer/BioNTech or Moderna vaccines may already receive a fourth dose of the antidote.
