Podoliak said today, as soon as the talks began, that both parties have “actively” expressed their positions and that “communication is difficult, but it continues.”
In his opinion, the reason for the “inconsistencies” is that Ukraine and Russia have “very different” political systems.
“Ukraine is a country that maintains free dialogue in society and a binding consensus. Russia, in short, practices the suppression of its own society,” he said.
Russia and Ukraine have already held three rounds of negotiations to try to stop the warinitiated by the Russian invasion on February 24 under the pretext of protecting the pro-Russian regions of Donetsk and Lugansk.
