Irpin It is one of the Ukrainian cities that is suffering the most from attacks by Russian troops. Diego Cortijo, collaborator of laSexta, has had to take refuge from the shots while Putin’s tanks attack indiscriminately, without dividing between civilians and military.
There we follow the volunteers trying to get the remaining civilians out of the city, heroes talking to the families and coordinating their exit as safely as possible. Added to the risky trips they make are the problems they suffer in their vehicles, stones on a road full of obstacles.
Since February 24, they risk their lives every day by accessing the interior of the city to get people, families, children and the elderly out, without even knowing where the Russian Army is. In the video we see the state of Irpin, totally flattened by Russian bombing, and we know the story of an elderly couple attacked by the Russians.
One of the volunteers, seeing this attack by a sniper, has raised his arms, taking out white handkerchiefs and acting as a human shield to protect this couple. It is the courage of heroes who, day by day, risk themselves to save the lives of Putin’s troops. According to the United Nations, at least 596 civilians have been killed and 1,067 people have been injured since the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine.
