Putin tells Macron and Scholz that Ukraine violates humanitarian law

Russian leader, Vladimir Putinaccused today the “nationalist” forces ukrainian of violating international humanitarian law in the zones of hostilities in Ukraine after the offensive russianin a telephone conversation with the French president, Emmanuel Macronand the German chancellor, Olaf Scholzthe Kremlin said in a statement.

Putin asked the two European leaders “to influence so that the “nationalist” forces stop violating international humanitarian law, the statement said.

“In particular, numerous acts of the most flagrant violation of the norms of international humanitarian law by the Ukrainian security forces were cited: extrajudicial reprisals against dissidents, hostage-taking and use of civilians as human shields, placing heavy weapons in residential areas, near hospitals, schools, kindergartens and the like,” the text added.

Putin told them that the Ukrainian forces “are systematically disrupting rescue operations of the population, intimidating civilians when they try to evacuate.”

“Vladimir Putin urged Emmanuel Macron and Olaf Scholz to influence the Kiev authorities to stop such criminal acts,” says the statement posted on the Kremlin website.

As he indicated, “Putin told French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in detail about the recent series of talks between Russian and Ukrainian representatives that took place in recent days in video format.”

“In this regard, the leaders of the three countries considered some issues related to the agreements that are being worked on to implement the known Russian conditions,” the report says.

Putin has previously declared the Russian conditions for a ceasefire, especially the recognition of the independence of pro-Russian Donbas, that Crimea is Russian and the neutrality of Ukraine.
