Pentagon estimates ‘2,000 to 4,000’ Russian soldiers were killed in Ukraine

Among “2,000 and 4,000″Russian soldiers have been killed in Ukraine since the beginning of the invasion launched by Moscow on February 24, estimated Lt. Gen. Scott Berrier, a senior US Pentagon official.

Berrier, director of the US Defense Intelligence Agency, told a congressional committee that this is a rough estimate that should be taken with caution as it was made from multiple sources.

An unusual balance of the Russian Ministry of Defense realized on March 2 of 498 dead Russian soldiers.

The director of the CIA agency, William Burns, explained during the same hearing before Congress that the Russian invasion of Ukraine was the result of a “deep personal conviction” of President Vladimir Putin, who has “gestated for many years an explosive mix of grievances and ambition”.

Burns considered “probable“that the Russian president”double your efforts and try to crush the Ukrainian army without worrying about civilian casualties.”

But he also claimed to be “absolutely convinced” that the Ukrainians will continue to resist with “efficiency and firmness.
