On the floor you can see mattresses with green hospital covers, plugs, cables, medical machines and some toys. In these images you can see mothers sitting next to their children in a train car transformed into a makeshift ‘hospital’.
These snapshots are from March 3, 2022, about a dozen children with chronic diseases who were being treated in a hospital in Kharkov, Ukraine, were transported by train to Poland.
This is the best solution they have achieved to evacuate these little ones who cannot be separated from their treatment. As soon as the Russian invasion began, the patients had to take refuge in hospital basementsuntil they have been able to evacuate them.
Chronically ill
In this train, too, they traveled terminally ill children and who need palliative care. A trip accessed by CNN, a television channel from which they tell how the journey was with these 12 children who were accompanied by a close relative, in most cases their mother. They were also accompanied by health personnel who tried to ensure that everything worked properly during the trip and that their fragile state of health resist displacement.
Adding the professionals I have made the displacement possible, the group was composed of about 50 peoplewho departed from the Kharkov region, Ukraine, where according to CNN data there are almost 200 children in palliative care.
In a first displacement they had to travel to Lviv by bus and from there take the train, seen in the images, to Poland. A train that has been prepared by the Polish Government and the Central Clinical Hospital in Warsaw by converting several train cars into a makeshift medical room, which even includes an operating room.
East journey ends successfullytravelers arrive in warsaw. The final destination is the Central Clinical Hospital in Warsaw, where the children can get the care they need and get away from the bombs. For their part, the families still in shock thank the team that has made it possible for them to be with their children in peace. From CNN, they explain that parents only try save what remains of their children’s lives and don’t be afraid.
