The use of this application is very simple, you just have to include up to a maximum of 5 words: These must have enough search volume for Google to return information about their trend, so we need to enter keywords that are as generic as possible.

Once the keywords have been entered, we must select the country from which you are searching, in our case we have analyzed searches from Russia and Ukraine, and the desired period of time (February 10 to March 3, in this case). In this way what we get is the information about whether something is being searched for a lot or a little (trend)when is looking for (temporary) and related topics about the entered keyword that are arousing interest (growth trends).

For this analysis we have chosen the words War, Putin, Bunker, Kiev and Zelensky. These do not have to be the ones with the highest volume of searches on the days analyzed, but rather they represent topics closely related to the events that are happening in Ukraine and, therefore, they were expected to have a high search volume.

Another point to keep in mind is that in Russia and Ukraine Internet search engine market share is divided between Google and the Russian public company Yandex. For this analysis we have focused solely on data obtained through queries in the Google search engine, which is the most used.

A few years ago, Google was mainly used by foreigners who were in Russia. However, this situation has changed.
