The President of Russia, Vladimir Putinassured this Friday that Russia “has no bad intentions” towards its neighboring countries, while “advising” them not to “escalate” the situation, within the framework of the conflict in Ukraine.
“I want to emphasize again: we have no ill intentions towards our neighbors and I would advise you don’t escalate the situationwhat do not impose restrictions“, he indicated during the raising of the Russian flag on a new ferry, according to the TASS news agency.
Putin has pointed out that Russian actions, “if they arise, always arise exclusively in response to some hostile actions against Russia“, noting that Moscow “does not see the need” to “escalate” tensions or “worse relations” with its neighboring countries.
The Russian president has also referred to the blocking or suspension of Russian projects with foreign countries. “If someone does not want to cooperate with us (…) and harms himself in that wayit will also harm us,” he said, although he guaranteed that Russia “will solve the tasks.”
“We’ll solve them anyway, and besides, ultimately, we will even benefit (…) because we will acquire additional skills”, he continued.
Putin ordered a military offensive against Ukraine a week ago. More than 2,000 civilians have died since the offensive began, while more than a million have left the country for neighboring countries, such as Poland, which has received the largest number.
