The Russian attacks ordered by Putin have reduced the Ukrainian city of Borondianka to destruction. It is hard to see among so much ruin and rubble what the city, 60 kilometers from Kiev, was just a week ago.
Then people walked quietly through the streetsthey waited for the bus, the stores announced their offers and the cars stopped at a zebra crossing when crossing a pedestrian.
Today the flames, which are still burning, are the closest thing to life. The aerial images show what remains of a square that was located in front of some blocks of buildings. Basketball games were played there and a Ukrainian flag was waving. There’s nothing left.
What Borondianka was just a few days ago, it is already just a memory for its 13,000 inhabitants. A city that, it should be remembered, was liberated by the Russians from Nazi occupation in 1943.
