The Supervisory Body for Private Investment in Telecommunications (Osiptel) ratified a set of fines for a total of S/3,527,740 (766.9 UIT) against Viettel Perú SAC (Bitel) after declaring the appeals filed by the telephone company unfounded.
In accordance with the Resolution of the Board of Directors No. 032-2022-CD/Osiptel, the company was fined for “having failed to comply with the objective value of the Minimum Speed Compliance – CVM quality indicator for download speed ( DL) and upload (UL) regarding the mobile internet access service in 3G and 4G technologies, in the second half of 2019″, in the towns of Jaén, Jauja, San Juan, Yurimaguas, Puerto Callao, Abancay, Ayacucho , Bethlehem and Punchana.
In this sense, the agency decided to declare the appeal filed by Bitel against Resolution No. 338-2021-GG/Osiptel unfounded and to confirm all its extremes.
Likewise, it dismissed the requests for annulment made by the company against Resolution No. 338-2021-GG/Osiptel.
