Community authorities have excluded seven Russian banks from the bank transfer system, while leaving Sberbank and Gazprombank, two of the largest, inside.
The European Union has excluded seven Russian banks from Swiftthe messaging system for bank transfers, as part of the sanctions imposed on Russia for the military deployment carried out in Ukraine since last week, although it has decided to leave two of the three main entities within the system: Sberbank and Gazprombank.
This is the list of banks excluded from Swift:
– Bank Otkritie
-Novikombank
– Promsvyazbank
– Bank Rossiya
– Sovcombank
– Vneshconombank
-VTB BANK
Neither Sberbank nor Gazprombank are listed. The largest Russian bank and the third largest Russian bank, respectively, have not been included because manage energy transactions in the EU, according to community sources.
