President of Mexico clarifies that he will end his term after past declarations

The president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, assured this Monday that, if the people so decide after the popular consultation on April 10, his term will end in 2024. despite the statements made last Thursday in which he said: “I can’t take it anymore”.

I am going to finish my mandate if the people of Mexico so decide, but then I am going to retire, I am going to retire, I am no longer going to have political participation in anything, I close my cycle”, said the president during his morning press conference from the National Palace.

López Obrador assured that the media manipulated his statements last Thursday, when during a press tour of the National Palace facilities he stated: “I can’t take it anymore, I’m closing my cycle and I’m retiring”, confessed.
