The Ukrainian ambassador to the UN, Sergiy Kyslytsya, today called for international support for his country in the face of Russia’s military intervention and harshly charged his Russian counterpart, Vasili Nebenzia, whom he said that war criminals “go straight to hell”.
Kyslytsya asked Nebenzia, who this month holds the rotating presidency of the Security Council, to leave the post in view of the fact that his country has launched a “war” against Ukraine and summoned him to telephone the president, Vladimir Putin, so that stop this “aggression”.
“There is no purgatory for war criminals, they go straight to hell”snapped the diplomat to the Russian ambassador.
Nebenzia, for her part, replied that her country has nothing against the Ukrainian people, but only against the “junta” that rules in Kiev.

The tense exchange took place during an emergency meeting of the Security Council, which was held as Putin announced in Moscow the start of the military intervention in eastern Ukraine.
