The UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) today raised 368,000 Ukrainian refugees that have left his country due to the Russian invasion that began on February 24, including the estimated 150,000 who have fled to neighboring Poland.
Another 43,000 crossed the border until Romaniaand there have also been movements to Moldova, Slovakia and even Russia, according to the United Nations agency, which also calculates some 160,000 internally displaceds for the war.
Both UNHCR and the Ukrainian government warned in previous days that even five million peoplealmost a tenth of the national population, could leave Ukraine due to the Russian attack.
The United Nations Office for Human Rights calculates that the conflict has left at least 64 civilians dead and some 180 wounded and also denounces that the attacks have damaged or destroyed hundreds of homes. Others have been left incommunicado or without electricity and water supply due to the damage that the bombings have caused to civilian infrastructure such as roads or bridges.
For its part, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs indicated that UN agencies and their partners have been forced to suspend their operations in Ukraine due to the deterioration of security in the country, although their personnel maintain a presence on the land.
