Cristina Reyes and Patrick Mittaz, a courtship in the midst of a pandemic that ended in a wedding; the ecclesiastical ceremony will be in Quito

They met in 2016, in Quito, but there was no chemistry at that time. Each one went their separate ways, without contemplating the idea of meeting again one day and building a life together. It was not in their plans. Her, a lawyer immersed in her political career. He, a businessman dedicated entirely to his business.

Four years passed without knowing each other. But, as is popularly said, “Life gives surprises”. One day before the pandemic settled in the country and forced the confinement of the population, in March 2020, they had contact again by chance, without intending to. Since then they have not parted anymore.

A week ago, on February 19, 2022, they contracted marriage in Manta, in front of the sea, in an idyllic wedding, where she wore a dazzling red dress, a symbol of love and passion that unites them.

The Andean parliamentarian Cristina Reyes She tells like this, full of emotion, how the story has been with her now husband Patrick Mittaz, who is an executive who has been involved in the private sector, far from entertainment and politics.

Therefore, the parliamentarian is careful not to share many details about her husband, because the prefers to stay away from the spotlight.

Cristina Reyes said “yes” to Quito businessman Patrick Mittaz in Manta

For him, this thing about cameras, exposure, interviews, he doesn’t like. And that must be respected. I am the public figure and in that we must be respectful, ”explains Reyes.

However, he briefly mentions that Mittaz is an agro-industrial engineer. Some of your current activity is related to that branch. It’s Quito. His father is swiss and his Machala’s mother.

Finding love, in this chaotic world, is wonderful. It is what gives us meaning. I have not been a person who has prioritized marriage, I have been a woman who has dedicated herself to professional aspirations, always studying, working, exploring life. But when Love Comes, as Julio Cortázar says, It’s like lightning that splits you in the middle of a patio. If I have taken my time it is because this is the right moment, it is the right person with whom I want to continue building my life”, says the parliamentarian with the certainty of having found her ideal complement in Patrick.

The civil wedding was held in Manabí because for both of us that province is special and they were looking for a “neutral” place, since she is from Guayaquil and he is from Quito. It was an unforgettable moment, officiated by the mayor of Manta, Agustín Intriago. Friends and relatives came from various cities in the country and abroad to celebrate their union.

After that weekend, Cristina and Patrick resumed their hectic professional activities. The honeymoon will still have to wait. There is still no day or a chosen place, although the parliamentarian would like it to be in August.

That month is special for the couple, since it was in August 2021 when Patrick proposed to her, during Cristina’s birthday party.

Now, it is also in plans the ecclesiastical link. It will be in a small chapel, in Quito, in a very intimate ceremony, Reyes advances. Although they have not defined when it will take place either, possibly in this same year. (I)
