Tens of thousands of Europeans take to the streets to call for an end to the war in Ukraine

Among other European cities, hundreds of people have also rejected Russia’s military invasion in Ukraine in Pamplona.

Thousands of people have taken to the streets of multiple European capitals this Saturday to ask Russia to call off the invasion of Ukrainefollowing the initiative of Russian citizens against the operation ordered by the country’s president, Vladimir Putin.

Cities such as Helsinki, Frankfurt or Brussels have become the scene of these peace gestures while Russian activists have organized petitions to collect signatures online to save the ban on gatherings in their country, which have so far resulted in some 3,000 arrested.

Demonstrations in Europe have started in Bulgaria, where some 200 people with Ukrainian flags have gathered in front of the presidential office in the center of the capital, Sofia, to protest against the invasion. Similar events have also been held in the Black Sea cities of Varna and Burgas.

On GermanyThousands of people have also protested in Frankfurt, where many have carried blue and yellow Ukrainian flags in a show of solidarity with the Eastern European country.

One of the most outstanding demonstrations has been the one that has taken place in the capital of FinlandHelsinki, where some 10,000 people have called on neighboring Russia to suspend the operation.

Also, in BelgiumSome 3,000 people have gathered in front of the Brussels headquarters of the Russian Federation embassy to the European Union (EU) in support of Ukraine.

The protests have been repeated in cities such as Munich, Stuttgart, Leipzig and Dusseldorf, with massive protests. This coming Sunday, Berlin will become the designated place for Germans to express their opposition to the conflict.

Demonstrations in Hego Euskal Herria

Hundreds of people have also rejected Pamplona Russia’s military invasion of Ukraine, have called for solidarity with this country and its citizens, and have filled the central Plaza del Castillo with shouts against the Russian president.

The act had been called by groups of Ukrainians in Navarra and families with ties in the countryincluding those that each summer and Christmas welcome children from the Chernobyl zone, an appointment that has been answered by hundreds of people, more than 600 according to the National Police.

For its part, the capitals of the CAV will host this Sunday two demonstrations in support of Ukraine.
