The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, stated today that tonight will be difficult, predicting that Russia will try to assault Kiev, for which he asked the Army not to lose control of the capital.
“I can say with absolute honesty: tonight will be more difficult than the day. Many cities of our state are under attack: Chernigov, Sumy, Kharkov, Donbas, in the south. Particular attention to Kiev: they cannot lose the capital”, he said in a new address to the nation posted by his office on Telegram.
“Tonight, on all fronts, the enemy will use all available forces to break our resistance: vile, cruel and inhuman. They will raid tonight,” he said.
The head of state stressed that we must persevere tonight.
According to him, the fate of Ukraine is being decided right now.
Zelenski assured that his main objective “is to put an end to this massacre.”
“The enemy’s losses are very, very serious. There are hundreds, hundreds of dead soldiers who crossed our border, who crossed into our land,” he said, without hiding that Ukraine has also suffered casualties, but that it resists Russian aggression “heroically.”
US Intelligence Reveals Russian Plan
The objective would be to encircle Kiev, besiege it, and then capture one of the two intact airfields, Sikorsky or Boryspilsia, which are located near the city center and on the eastern outskirts of Kiev. Once the airports are secured, a force of 10,000 Russian paratroopers will fly in Ilyushin Il-76 military transport planes backed by Beriev A-50 planes providing communications support, according to US intelligence data.
The paratroopers would then be tasked with leading an assault on the city proper, with the aim of locating and capturing President Volodymyr Zelensky, his ministers and parliamentarians and forcing them to sign a peace agreement.
The deal would return control of the country to Russia, or to a Moscow-backed puppet regime. Such an attack could be combined with an assault from the south and east, Crimea and the Donbass, to pin down the Ukrainian army units fighting there, preventing them from reinforcing the capital.
Sabotage attacks on Kiev’s power grid, along with bombing missions, could also be used to spread panic and cause people to flee, clogging roads and making it difficult for forces already in the city to move.
Ukraine announces enemy casualty figures
According to Ukraine’s Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Malyar, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have killed 2,800 Russian soldiers, disabled 80 tanks, 516 armored fighting vehicles of different types, ten planes and seven helicopters.
The Ukrainian president stressed that Russia could not justify this war, so “the occupiers had to present increasingly absurd accusations to” say at least something “.
“I am sure that these accusations are biased, no one will believe them, the Ukrainians will not believe them, the world will not believe them, the citizens of the Russian Federation will not believe them. There is simply no way to explain why they fired artillery at nurseries, homes and orphanages, ”he emphasized. (I)
