Evacuation of more than a thousand Ukrainians to Jordan begins

The Jordanian government began this Friday the evacuation by land of some 1,100 compatriots residing in Ukrainemostly students, to neighboring countries Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Hungarydue to the Russian invasion.

“Since last week, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been in contact with the governments of the four European countries that agreed to allow Jordanians from Ukraine to enter their territory without meeting prerequisites or visas”, reported the ministry in a statement.

A crisis cell set up by the ministry set up crossing points in the four countries bordering Ukraine, and assigned diplomats and consuls to manage the logistical facilities to be provided to the evacuees, including the necessary documentation, accommodation and transportation.
