Ukraine’s President Volodimir Zelensky on Thursday compared the Russian invasion of his country to the actions of “Nazi Germany” during World War II.
“Russia attacked Ukraine in a cowardly and suicidal way, as Nazi Germany did during World War II,” the Ukrainian president declared during an appearance broadcast on Facebook, urging Russian citizens to “go out” to the streets to ” protest against the war.
Zelensky also called on the Ukrainians to join the territorial defense units. “Those who have combat experience and are fit to join Ukraine’s defense should present themselves at the Interior Ministry’s recruitment centers,” he continued.
Russian President Vladimir Putin launched an invasion of Ukraine on Thursday, with airstrikes and ground forces entering from various axes. (I)
