The Ukrainian government and the pro-independence militias supported by Moscow have accused each other of violating the ceasefire regime in Donbass (eastern Ukraine), where they have been fighting for almost eight years in a conflict that has claimed more than 14,000 lives.

The ceasefire in Donbass has been breached since it was established in 2015 with minor or major incidents, which is collected every day by the Special Monitoring Mission of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).

This is a brief summary of what happened in the last few hours in the Donbass:

– The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has denounced that the independentists have violated the ceasefire on 29 occasions, without causing any casualties in the ranks of the government forces.

– The Donetsk People’s Republics (RPD) and Luhansk (RPL) have assured that the Ukrainian Army attacked the surroundings of nine towns under its control with mortar fire.

– The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Joseph Borrellhas said in Brussels: “What we have evidence of and we are very concerned about is the increase in fighting and heavy bombardment in some parts of the border.”
