Ukraine will receive 1.20 billion euros in financial aid
During the meeting, the head of the Commission presented a package of EU economic and individual sanctions if Russia attacks Ukraine again, it was reported in Brussels. “President Ursula von der Leyen confirmed that all options are being considered and that the sanctions will cover the financial and energy sectors, as well as high-tech exports,” the published statement said.
The European Commission also announced that it is talking with various countries about ensuring additional supplies of natural gas and LNG should Russia decide to impose retaliatory sanctions and turn off the gas tap. Ursula von der Leyen also stressed the need to continue the fight against Russian disinformation. During the conference, the leaders stressed their strong support for Ukraine.
