Brazil calls for justice for Moïse, a Congolese refugee killed in a brutal beating

Hundreds of Brazilians have protested this weekend over the death of Moise Kabagambe, a Congolese refugee victim of a brutal lynching on a beach in Rio de Janeiro, demanding “Justice“and punishment for those responsible.

This refugee was killed by several people after receiving a beating in which they reached hit with a bat. We warn of the harshness of the images that can be seen in the video that accompanies these lines.

Nobody called the police after what happened, nobody defended him. Although three of the aggressors have already been arrested, the family asks for justice for the victim, as well as for all those involved “to be arrested“.

Moise Kabagambe, a 24-year-old refugee from the Democratic Republic of the Congo and resident in Brazil since 2014, was murdered after claiming a debt of 200 reais (about 35 euros) from the owner of the kiosk for two days of work serving customers.
