Rayan rescue: they reach the 5-year-old boy trapped for days in a 32-meter well in Morocco

Rayanthe 5-year-old trapped at the bottom of a narrow well in the province of Chefchaouen (Morocco), is about to be rescued this Saturday by the civil protection teams after an arduous rescue operation.

The rescue team located Rayan around 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. A Civil Protection medical team is now preparing to lift him out of the well on a stretcher.

To carry out the rescue, they have mobilized five bulldozers and dozens of protection agentsas well as local officials and members of the Royal Gendarmerie.

In the last few hours, they opened excavations parallel to the well, having managed to get water and oxygen to the minor. The operation had to be temporarily suspended this Friday for fear of a landslide, resuming around 10:00 p.m.

Members of Civil Protection, Auxiliary Forces, Royal Gendarmerie and local authorities participate in the rescue work. The objective, as happened in Spain in the case of the little Julianwas to dig a well parallel to the place where the minor is located.
