2,000 kilos of cocaine from Ecuador were found in a Spanish port

The Spanish authorities have seized 2,011 kilos of cocaine arrived at the port of Algeciras (south) in a container from Ecuador, during a regular customs control of this type of packaging from South America.

The security forces and the Tax Agency explained this Friday that the agents were aware of the arrival of various pieces of equipment from Ecuador and, after a thorough risk analysis work, they suspected that one of them might be carrying camouflaged narcotics.

In one of them, which contained frozen hake, they found 1,741 tablets of a white and floury substance, hidden in two pallets, and they tested positive for cocaine in narcotics test.

The Algeciras guard court directs the investigations to try to identify the people related to this drug shipment. (I)
