Ursula von der Leyen, head of the European Commission, made an important declaration that may have a significant impact on the geopolitical situation of Poland’s closest neighbor.

Ukraine with EU support. 1.2 billion euros in loans

Ukraine is a free and sovereign country that makes its own choices. The European Union will continue to be on its side

– said the politician.

The head of the European Commission also assured that Ukraine can count on a special loan package. Its value is to amount to 1.2 billion euros.

– This package will help Ukraine meet its financial needs related to the conflict. We count on the Council and the European Parliament to adopt this emergency macro-financial assistance as soon as possible, said von der Leyen.

She also added that the EU would start work on another, more long-term financial assistance program.

Ukraine warns: Russia is almost ready to invade

Late last week, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense released data to CNN which show that Russia has deployed more than 127,000 soldiers in the border region. The ministry called the situation “difficult” and added that, according to Ukraine, Russia “is trying to divide and weaken the European Union and NATO.” He also said that Moscow’s actions were “aimed at limiting the United States’ ability to ensure security on the European continent.”

– In our opinion, this is a very dangerous situation. We are at a point where Russia can attack Ukraine at any time, said Jen Psaki, a spokeswoman for the White House, last week.
