2023 US Visa Lottery: these are the steps to follow to enter the green card draw

The inscription on the Diversity Visa Program of the United States (USA) corresponding to 2023, popularly known as the Visa Lottery, was officially opened on October 6 and will be enabled until Tuesday, November 9.

Within this period, foreigners interested in one of the 55,000 permanent residence cards must submit their application electronically only through the official website.

It is worth mentioning that they enter the draw of the also called green cards citizens from countries with low immigration rates to the United States; In addition, the person must have at least a high school education and have work experience. The winners of the DV-2023 will be selected through a computerized random drawing.

How to register:

1. Visa Instructions

Read the instructions for the Diversity Visa 2023 or Diversity Visa (DV), for this CLICK HERE.

2. Photography

Before starting the entry process, verify that the photograph and photographs of any dependents fully comply with the DV entry requirements included in the DV-2023 instructions, otherwise you will be disqualified.

3. Enter and complete your information

Then click on the “Start Entry” button to enter the DV (Diversity Visa) program.

The entry form has two parts: one for the main participant and one for derivatives (if applicable). To complete the process it is necessary to provide the following information:

• First Name: Last Name, First Name, Middle Name (As it appears on your passport)
• Sex
• Date of birth: day, month and year
• City of birth
• Country of birth
• Country of eligibility for the DV-2023 program
• Passport number, country that issued it and expiration date
• Recent photograph (of the applicant, their spouse and children) that meets the requirements of the Department of State
• Postal address
• Current country of residence
• Telephone number (optional)
• Email
• Highest academic level achieved
• Current marital status
• Number of children

It is important to fill in everything correctly and completely. Once you finish, the entry will be sent to the DV-2023 Processing Center.

4. Validation of your registration

If you made your registration correctly, the system will validate your registration and provide a confirmation number, which you must keepAs you will need it to track the status of your application online, it is recommended to keep it until at least September 30, 2023.

When will the list of winners come out

1. The results of the DV-2023 Visa Lottery will be published on the Department of State Entrant Status Check website, effective May 8, 2022 and until September 30, 2023.
2. To verify the results, participants must write down the unique confirmation number that was provided to them after completing the electronic submission process of the application form.
3. If selected, you will be directed to a confirmation page that provides further instructions, including fees related to immigration to the United States.
4. Finally, all those selected, including family members, must have their visas issued no later than September 30, 2023 in order to obtain the green card by the Visa Lottery, once they go through the consular interview process.
