The US studies the possibility of Qatar supplying gas to Europe if Russia ends up invading Ukraine

Nowadays, more than 40% of natural gas comes to Europe from Russia, and a third of Russian gas passes through Ukraine.

Qatar, for its part, is one of the main producers of liquefied natural gas. Three quarters of its production reaches Asian countries with deficiencies in energy supply, such as Japan or Korea.

Only 5% of Qatari gas reaches Europe, according to Bloomberg estimates.
