The German Minister of Health acknowledges that they cannot deal with the coronavirus as in Spain: “We have three million people over 60 years of age without vaccinating”

The German Minister of Health, Karl Lauterbachcalled the population to test for coronavirus antigens several times a week, due to the progress of the omicron variant and the clear upturn in the number of infections and incidence.

In the event that there has been contact with an infected person and that they have received the booster dose of the vaccine, Lauterbach told the Sunday ‘Bild am Sonntag’, “it is even recommended to do a daily test“.

According to the minister, this is necessary because the tests do not always react to omicron at the beginning of an infection. The frequency of the tests increases safety, according to Lauterbach, who also recommended the use of FFP2 masks whenever you are with other people in closed spaces.

Asked if Germany should opt for a lifting of restrictions like in the United Kingdom or Spain, Lauterbach explains that he has “three million people over 60 years” without vaccination.
