A member of the Mexican Sinaloa cartel was sentenced by a US court to 188 years in prison for overseeing the smuggling of large amounts of cocaine, methamphetamine, and heroin from Mexico to US soil, the Department of Justice reported on Tuesday.
The drug dealer Roberto Gallegos-Lettuce, 39, was sentenced Monday in federal court for the Southern District of California after being extradited from Mexico to the United States in March 2020 and pleading guilty to having conspired to carry out money laundering internationally.
According to court documents, Gallegos-Lechuga coordinated drug trafficking through border ports entry into Southern California and supervised the couriers charged with smuggling hundreds of thousands of dollars obtained from the drug trafficking business from the US to Mexico.
