The Israeli Government will build more than 7000 homes for settlers in the Golan Heights

For its part, the Syrian government has expressed its “strong condemnation” of the decision to double the number of settlers.

The Israeli government has approved an investment plan of almost 300 million euros for increase population and build new settlements on the Golan Heights, which occupied Syria in 1967 and annexed them in 1981.

Damascus thus denounces the “grave and systematic violations that amount to war crimes” and recalls that “the Golan is an integral part of Syrian territory, in accordance with its legitimacy and international law.”

In addition, the Syrian authorities have denounced that several Israeli warplanes they have fired missiles against the port of the coastal city of Latakia, located in western Syria, an attack that has been attributed to the Israeli army.

The Arab League he has also condemned the announced plan as a new “dangerous step“in its policy of expansion in the occupied territories and a” flagrant violation “of international law.

The secretary general of the organization, Ahmed Abulgueit, affirms that “the Israeli plans represent a flagrant violation of international law, which considers Golan to be occupied Syrian territory.”
