Metabolic disorders are most often associated not with diseases or poor heredity, but with improper diet. Nutritionist Svetlana Fus told about this.
According to RIA Novosti, the specialist listed the most common causes of slow metabolism. This includes not eating breakfast, not drinking enough water, eating irregularly, eating large portions, overeating at dinner, inadequate sleep and stress.
To get rid of metabolic problems, it is recommended to add more vegetables, cereals and fruits to the diet.
“They should make up two-thirds of the diet. After all, these are the best helpers for the normal functioning of the intestines, cleansing the body of toxins and an important source of minerals, vitamins and fiber, ”explained Foos.
She also advised to drink more water, refrain from sweets, starchy foods, fast food and convenience foods.
As for the number of meals per day, there should be three to four in order to prevent severe hunger and overeating.
