In addition, he warned that, if not receiving a response, on Monday he will inform the first Mexican measures in response to tariffs imposed by Trump, 25 % to the products that Mexico exports to the United States.

This measure, said Sheinbaum, “has effects for both countries, but has very serious effects on the economy of the United States. Well, it will raise the costs very much of all the products that are exported from Mexico to the US, ”said Sheinbaum in a video in the social network X.

“Yesterday in my statement I proposed to President Trump to establish a work table with our best teams, security and also those of public health. It is not with the imposition of tariffs that problems are solved, but speaking and dialoguing, ”he said.

“I propose that we hope the response of President Trump to our proposal and tomorrow, Monday, at the presidential conference I will be informing them the first measures of what we call Plan B,” he said.

The Mexican president also said that “Mexico does not want to confront. We start from the collaboration between neighboring countries. Mexico not only does not want fentanil to arrive in the United States, but we do not want it to reach anywhere. ”

Therefore, he said, “if the United States wants to fight criminal groups and want us to do it together, we must work in an integral way, but always under principles, the principles of responsibility already shared, of mutual trust, collaboration and especially respect To sovereignty. On Saturday, Trump ratified the executive orders for which 25 % tariffs for the goods of Mexico and Canada (with the exception of Canadian oil, which will have only 10 %) and 10 % for those of those of those of China, which can unleash a dangerous commercial war.
